Lead Story-Writer Tony Stoltzfus on Heaven's Perspective:
If you want to speak for God, you have to know him well. We select writers who’ve cultivated intimacy with Jesus over a lifetime, who demonstrate the mind of Christ and the lifestyle of a disciple. They’ve been through MetaFormation’s advanced training in engaging the heart, so they understand the inner workings of the heart as well as Jesus’ longing to fill our deep desires. They’re coaches, so they know how to ask powerful questions in the interviews. And they are all adept at hearing God’s voice in their own lives. In addition, they’ve been through our story-writer training program, and receive regular feedback and critique as they practice their craft.

More about our writing process:
A great God Story is birthed out of four things: the writer’s personal intimacy with Jesus, a living picture of heaven, a deep understanding of how God forms his people over a lifetime, and direct revelation (God speaking to and through the writer in the writing process). Writing a story is a combination of wisdom, prayer, and the principles of prophetic insight.
As we listen to you tell your story, details and patterns jump out to us, showing us where to apply our reframing tools (like the Seven Frames or the Calling Journey Timeline), inviting us to introduce pictures of heaven, or opening new perspectives on scripture. Often, we learn as we write as Holy Spirit weaves the details of your story together in amazingly creative ways. It’s a lot of fun!
The Three Beliefs capture the foundational perspective of a God Story:
Our Statement of Faith:
We try to “major in the majors” when it comes to working with our Christian brothers and sisters, so we align with the historical Christian creeds like the Apostles’ creed:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried…
We believe that God still speaks to us today, through rhema (the personal, experiential word). In fact, faith comes by hearing, and hearing the word (“rhema”) of God. We test every rhema against the logos (the Bible) to make sure that what we experience sounds like the voice of Jesus revealed in scripture. What Jesus believes about us is that his sheep hear his voice, so we choose to agree with him that we do hear, both experientially (rhema) and through scripture (logos).
